Things 3 at a glance: 7.4/10 (Good). The beautiful, buy-once task manager for Apple devices. Price: $9.99 iPhone · $49.99 Mac. Best for: Apple-only users who want a beautifully designed personal task manager with no subscription. Biggest drawback: High price, with separate purchases for Mac, iPad and iPhone.
Verdict
Things 3 is the to-do app Apple users recommend to each other: calm, polished and still actively improved — the August 2026 update rebuilt repeating tasks for free. You pay once per device, which adds up, and there is no Windows, Android or web version at all.

Overview
Things 3 first hit the App Store on May 18, 2017, and Cultured Code says it has won the Apple Design Award twice. The model is refreshingly simple: a Today list with a separate This Evening section, an Upcoming view that mixes to-dos with your calendar events, and projects broken into headings.
Version 3.23 (August 19, 2026) delivered a long-requested overhaul of repeating to-dos — complete one early, create the next copy on demand, pause and resume in bulk — as a free update across Mac, iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro, as MacRumors reported.
Pricing is per platform with no subscription: $49.99 for Mac, $9.99 for iPhone (including Apple Watch) and $19.99 for iPad on the US App Store. Zapier names it the best to-do app for Apple users, and lists the separate purchases and Apple-only reach as the catches.
